Welcome to Southland District Council online. Here, you will find a wealth of information on what Council does, how it works for you and what is happening in our wonderful province.

This site will continue to grow and evolve as we celebrate our communities, which are the backbone of Southland.

Southlanders have strong community engagement with their Council through the 12 Community Boards and 16 Community Development Area Sub-Committees and Council sees this as democracy in action.

We are, and will continue working with our communities to make Southland even better as our role has grown from managing Southland's extensive network of assets and amenities to also promoting our people's economic, social and cultural well-being, while protecting our environment.

Council was founded on putting people first and so we are always interested in what you think.
