Rates & Fees

To pay for the many activities and services Council is legislated to carry out and offer, Council charges rates and fees.

Property owners in the Southland District pay a yearly rate for services and activities. It includes a local rate and a roading rate.

Fees are charged for particular services that individuals use, such as building inspections, resource consent applications, burials and dog licensing.
