Council is notifying the summary of the submissions received for the four proposed Plan Changes to the Southland District Plan 2001 on Saturday 5 December 2009.  Listed below is the public notice notifying the summary of the submissions and the earlier notice on the proposed Plan Changes.

All 4 of the proposed Plan Changes relate to Te Anau township, with three being Council initiated. A map of the proposed changes and the full section 32 reports are listed below. The summary of submissions for each proposed plan change is under the relevant heading.

Te Anau Plan Changes Summary Document October 2009

A Te Anau Plan Changes summary document has been prepared and this provides an explanation of each plan change proposal and includes a map of the areas of Te Anau that they relate to. A copy of this document been sent to all Te Anau ratepayers and it can be viewed here.

Making a further submission

The period for making submissions on proposed Te Anau Plan Changes 5, 6, 7 and 8 closed on 23 November 2009. A summary of all decisions requested by persons making submissions of the proposed Te Anau Plan Changes has now been prepared and is available for inspection. The Southland District Council is now calling for further submissions on the proposed Plan Changes.

Any person as described in Schedule 1 (8) of the Resource Management Act 1991 (as amended 1 October 2009) may, in the prescribed form, make a further submission but only in support of or in opposition to the original submissions to the Proposed Te Anau Plan Changes 5, 6, 7 and 8. This is not an opportunity to make fresh submissions on any of the proposed Plan Changes as a further submission can only relate to a submission that has already been lodged.

Further submissions on the Proposed Plan Changes must be received by the Southland District Council no later than Friday, 22 January 2010.
