Two variations have been made to Council's District Plan.
Variation 1 created a new 'Eweburn Zone', approximately seven kilometres north of the Te Anau township. The zone provides defined areas for residential and visitor accommodation and commercial activities.
Variation 2 made changes to various sections of the plan to make the rules clearer for the public. Changes also made it easier for people to build a house within the rural townships of Athol, Curio Bay, Dipton, Drummond, Fortrose, Garston, Gorge Road, Limehills/Centre Bush, Orepuki, Thornbury, Waianawa, Waikawa, Waimahaka, Wairio and Woodlands.
The changes were introduced after a public consultation process including submissions and a hearing.
